I got all excited when I saw "Gas War in Montreal" at the top of the topics lists. Sadly, it was just a bump of 2012's post, not a new PETROL ARMY being formed.

How rude! but what I would expect from a typical obnoxious American.

Would be good to see an experienced strong boycot leader start up a new one today that might spark some new interest, that would make an impact on high rising fuel costs, eh?

GGG's homesite was actually GasBuddy, same as Nickeybasenji The Chicago region has its share of goofy posts. My point is that it is by no means unique to the Chicago region.

Maxstar,
GGG, FedUpFred, and a couple of others (whose names I can't recall right off because they got booted from the site) signed up via the Chicago site. That said, from some minute details in his posts, I never thought GGG was actually from Chicago. I did feel that GGG had multiple accounts on the Chicago site and possibly other GB sites as well. I just felt it an odd coincidence that these types of abusers/trolls chose the Chicago site to sign up, that's all. It's almost as if the Chicago site was targeted for some reason. Then there's that land to the north of Illinois that I shall not name that Trixie always gets a kick out of. There are some real loony posts that come out of those sites.

Hold on. GGG was in a league of his own, but from my experience, the nutters are equally spread around the whole GasBuddy territory.

"Good boycotters" sounds like an oxymoron. But for pure entertainment value, I don't think you can get much better than Gas Genius Guy. For some reason, the Chicago site seems to bring out the real nutters.

The "high energy" guys were fun. I miss them, too.
But, perhaps, GasBuddy has enlightened them to a higher plane of motoring existence.
They have learned that boycotting will never work. They know that the only way to reduce gas prices is to reduce usage (but, then the oil producing nations cut output to compensate at some point to maintain their price margins).
Some walk, some bike. Others carpool or take public transportation. Some work from home.
We're all growing and changing with the times. We know that we're all in this together and we all need to come up with the solution together.

I enjoyed the montreal gas war and "pertol Army". Not seeing that level of insanity much these days.

I think most of them stuck their heads in a microwave oven with their tin foil hats on.
