The only way to get back is by boycotting. The first is Petro-Canada for 3 to 4 months hit them in their pocket books. Then go after Esso for the same length of time and so on. Complain to your politicians at all levels, the news media, the newspapers, Radio Stations. etc to show them we the customers will not take it any more. These companies try any way to keep prices high to line their pockets so they can get richer and richer. I live in Ontario Canada and we feel the same. I have tried to start a boycott on Facebook with Petro-Canada the first, after talking with one for the attendants, and told me that sales are down to the point it is noticeable. I think it is working but I have no way to confirm it. We need the whole country on the bandwagon. Pass the word around to let everyone participate

I guess your first post did not get the reaction you thought it would get. That's because your idea has been presented hundreds of times before, and it has been shown to be a waste of time hundreds of times before. Do yourself a favor and read some of the topics in this forum. Make sure to check out a few of the "why it can't work" ones, which will link you to 3rd party sites like the Department of Energy and Snopes.com. Learn the reasons your idea was met with less than open arms, post some prices to help out your fellow Vancouverites, and make the site a place where you can learn to save energy dollars.

It won't work, it can't work, and I can't be bothered posting the data for the 93 millionth time. Point your search towards "snopes gasout" and get yourself educated.

To find out why read some of the other 5000 topics in this territory. There is no current shortage of complaining about high gas prices to the media or politicians. It is unlikely that more than a few percentage of others will participate. Even if a large percentage participated, do you really think that the company would lower their prices or would they simply sell that inventory to other buyers.
