Don't pay a membership to shop in a store. It's ok with me if you want to.

In Jacksonville, NC, you have to be a member to use the fuel station at Sam's Club. Sam's Club gas prices are always the cheapest of all gas stations in Jacksonville, NC

In New Jersey, it is illegal to require a membership for gas sales, so Sam's Club, BJ's, and Costco all are required to sell gas to the general public as well as it's members. In my home state of Pennsylvania however, membership is required.

"The reason we do not fuel station is that SAM's doesn't own the property."

Due to tax laws very few fuel station operators own the property upon which their station is located.

If you rent then 100% of your rent payments are a cost of doing business dedication each year. If you own then a much smaller amount is allowed, and only for a limited number of years.

Our local SAM's doesn't have a station which is a few miles from home.
I have to drive 8-10 miles away to another SAM's to fill up.
The reason we do not fuel station is that SAM's doesn't own the property.

There are some states and some products for which one does not have to be a member to purchase at Sam's.

For example in Alabama anyone can use the Sam's Pharmacy.

All big box stores require you to be a member to buy their products. I'm thankful Gas Buddy shows EVERY option out there. How else would I know my local Sam's Club is a good 6 cents cheaper than the rest?

Because the gasoline distributors dictate gas prices in my area, Sam's is no cheaper than the nearby stations. I can buy gas cheaper at a BP station near my neighborhood.

This is crazy. Sam's Club and Cosco have the cheapest prices in my area. That helps to keep all of the other stations around them low or close to their prices. Why would you want them to be boycotted from Gas Buddy? If you are jealous than buy a membership and you can get the savings from the gas.

Not all Sams are member only. In this area anyone can get fuel there but members and those with Walmart gift cards get a discount.

All the price gougers would love it if the membership clubs were forbidden from posting. Their prices help keep the local prices in check.
I buy at Costco's, but I pass many, and I look for the cheapest Costco.

Everyone knows Costco or Sam's club are for members only

My Sam's Club has the best local prices an based on MPG has gasoline equal to the best.

Kroger usually has the same prices but poorer MPG. Kroger diesel is OK. Sadly Sam's doesn't have diesel.

Sam's is not always the lowest price except when prices spike, then they become competitive.

Sam's is the only station here with a price different than all the others.
The state has investigated price fixing here for 30 years, but can't seem to nail them.
Sam's came to town and sold gas 5-10 cents cheaper than all the others.
Now, Sam's is about 2-4 cents cheaper, but I have a Holiday 5 cents off card, so I buy from them.
I don't like the huge Sam's and Walmart company, but when the local gas stations are gouging you, you need to make them suffer by buying from someone else.

If you're not a member, you can't buy your gas there anyway. Non-members are boycotting Sam's stations by default. Duh!

. Sam's Club and Costco usually have some of the lowest prices, usually below average, so they help bring gas prices down... but, around here, there are usually non-membership and free-membership stations with even a bit lower prices, so I don't buy any memberships...

. I think the main reason nowadays for membership stores/stations is THEFT by people with ADDICTIONS/STUPIDITY... businesses these days need to know just WHO exactly is in their stores... THEFT massively increases the COSTS for a business... THEFT also increase the COSTS for courts and judges that all the rest of us have to pay for to deal with THEFT...

Today 5 stations have lower prices than our local Sam's.

Checked another AR Sam's, 60 miles from here, 13 stations are lower than Sam's. 3 stations are 6 cents lower!
