If you decide to boycott one brand of gasoline which one would that be? My choice would be Citgo because of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Probably Kroger, since they seem to be the first to jump the price up.

Well, my base gut reaction would be to boycott Citgo, as many others here have mentioned, since it is owned by the nationalized oil company of Venezuela, former led by the late Hugo Chavez, loudmouth anti-American communist. Also, any gas produced from oil shipped from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and various other nations supporting Islamo-Fascism and global terrorism. Unfortunately, the oil market is so commoditized, it doesn't matter who you buy from... the selling price remains the same for the sellers. So when you boycott ex. Citgo, you aren't really hurting Hugo Chavez (especially not in the afterlife) or the Venezuelan national oil company, you are simply hurting some local businessman who was naive enough to brand his business as a Citgo station.

I suppose the best thing you can do is to reduce your overall personal petroleum consumption, and vote for politicians who encourage more domestic energy production. Although there are obvious downsides to ethanol, for example... not really a fan of that either.

hard to choose as they are all doing the same sorts of "tricks". I have stopped using Arco due to credit card considerations. I try to use stations that only have one price for a grade.

Exxon - making profit at our expense, not counting how they got away with ruining Alaska wildlife! Also, BP for ruining the Gulf.

It might be Spinx. I can't believe that I found some gas for $2.89 and with the fuel perks that I earned made it $2.69. I was sure that the reading would be a half a tank but it was 1/4 .This isn't the first time that I got a good price and had fuel perks to make even lower that my reading should have been what I felt due to other times that I put gas in my vehicle

You should boycott an area of Gas stations, this then affects all the retailers in this area and they report lower sales for a 48 hour period.

I like people's idea about boycotting the unethical gas stations but unfortunately, I don't have enough information to know which those are. However, I learned from this thread Citgo is one of them... ha.... glad I don't have any of those locally (Seattle.)

I would boycott SHELL because right now they have $3.99/gal while other local stations have gas for WAY CHEAPER. Shell's is always the most expensive.... I don't get it! Shell, how do you expect to make money when people catch on to this?
