Please don't fall for the "pennies at the pump June 30" scam. The only thing that will work is dimes at the pump June 29th.
Make sure to fill up, even if you don't need to fill up. Bring some old milk jugs, a rusty barrel, the extra baby bottles, coffee cans, your Prozac prescription bottles - anything which might hold liquid. The key is BUY AS MUCH GAS AS YOU CAN. This will ruin the gas supply chain and force prices down, as the price departments for BIG OIL immediately cut back to $1.50 a gallon in fear. Of dimes.

Jkent1953, Mikeyl:

I believe you missed the part where this thread is a satirical response to the idiotic "Pennies at the Pump" thread posted here last year which has since been deleted, as was its trolling author. Check the date of Catfish's post, June 9, 2011, over a year ago.

I think the fish just reeled in two more anglers.

I think the psychiatrists and psychologists in this country must have a backlog of patient referrals.

Who thinks any of this garbage will ever work and at the levels you are predicting?

This country is really going downhill quickly.

I remember when I started driving, I would use dimes, nickels, quarters and even pennies to buy gas. When we wanted to go drag main in the big city down the road, we would all kick in a couple dimes and quarters to fill up the tank of whoever was driving. of course, at $0.17 per gallon, it did not take a lot of dimes. Most of us did not have much paper money in those days. and a hamburger cost almost as much as a gallon of gas then also. just like now.

"not real productive"

rbutterw,

This thread contains a level of not-so-subtle sarcasm I don't think you understand. But don't feel bad. It's genesis is rooted in a post made here by a long since gone "genius" before you were a member here. I would gladly provide you a link to that original thread, but alas, when said genius got booted from the site for trolling, his nonsense threads were deleted also.

Hope this helps.

HD, all I had to do was walk into the store with my dimes and the owners reset the price to 1.89 a gallon. But then the pennies at the pump guy came along, and the owners would get angry and go back to $3.50.
I'll get this done next June 29th, it works.

Hey, hey, we are all off topic here.
It is just a week until the 2nd Annual Dimes at the Pump day. Last year gas prices dropped almost a dollar a gallon in areas where Dimes at the Pump was used. Sadly, the prices rose again when the local banks ran out of dimes.
So be prepared! Get your dimes!

"the only way to bring big oil down is the only buy gas at one company a week and such as week on buy for bp next week shell next week mobile"

Gatorgal,

With all due respect, your suggestion is completely without merit and shows a total lack of understanding of fuel commodity markets. The Boycott forum is littered with similar suggestions. You can't bring down prices of a fungible commodity just by changing what retailer you purchase it from. The reasons for this are far too numerous to justify typing them here again. If you want to bring down the price of a commodity, you must use less of it.

I've never heard of dimes at the pump before. What's this all about? I'd like to learn more. Is it only going to be happening in certain states at certain stations or all for all?

I'm new to this site so I'm all for learning about anything that can save me a bit of cash any day.

Well according to reliable sources the penny at the pump in Canada may be over, as pennies will be discontinued.

I am so confused... where did this penny and dime thing come from?

I always get 30 gallons at a time... filling up my car and several gas cans at the same time.

ok, ummmm, if there are any wheat pennies, I'll take em, other than that, dimes are for pansies, if ya can't carry $1000 in pennies, you don't deserve dimes.

if this makes sense to you, wow, it sure doesn't to me.

How about you just pick a day a week to NOT drive? If everyone did, the glut of fuel would get even bigger!
