Some stations post one price on their sign but if you look close it's a cash price and the price on the pump is usually about 10 cent higher for credit card price.cash price credit card price

I've seen that rarely, but the biggest difference I remember was 5¢, and usually 3¢.

Convenience costs; it costs the merchant to use the credit card system. Cash is king.

Credit Cards are a excellent pick if one pays off the bill at the end of the month or if a person comes up short of money! We all know we need fuel to get to work and preform other activities!

SOme people lose control or do not track their spending and get into trouble! Some places give you a good discount. Walmart is very good. This only helps if a person pays off the bill at the end of the month or the finance charges will eat up any savings!

I post the cash price. Sometimes I put the credit price in the comment box.

I am starting to notice both the cash and credit card prices now after reading this topic. GasBuddy should have some option for entering and searching for either type of prices.

my wife went to a station yesterday per the GasBuddy, she noticed that the sign outside with the same prices per thevGasBuddy. When she got to the pump there was a difference in the price from what the sign sign said because the price on pump was a charge price and price on the sign/gas buddy was a charge price!:we need to come up with the system where there's a cash prize and there's a charge price because that's becoming ever more prevalent problem at gas stations and gas station owners are using systems like to get customers to come because they know we're riding by stations &writing the prices from the signs so when people say a price is posted GasBuddy they use our system to go there when they get there they find out the price is not the prices they are really going to have to pay which will cause in the poor feelings on GasBuddy, not the station owner you know it was the station owner who caused all this ill will from being a fraud in the first place by posting a hidden cash price and not real charge price on the sign

Best to check first. Both prices have to be posted at the station- It's the law. If not report them to B.B.B. (and bad mouth them to everyone you know that buys gas).

BP is 6 cents cheaper while paying cash, but if you have coupon code from kmart for 30 cents off a gallon, you have to use a credit card, which then cancels out the 6 cents, cause you cant use cash... uggg

It's kind of odd here. The stations on the North side of town where most the businesses and restaurants are have a different cash/credit price. On the south side of town it's all the same price. However a station on the south side just recently switched to a different price for cash/credit.

Did you know that it is illegal for retailers i.e. gas stations to charge you the credit card price when using your bank/debt card. And that you should report them to the 1-800 number on the back of your card?

Depends on if I have the cash in my pocket.
If I don't have the cash it go on the card...
If there is a cash discount it well be cash.

Quit a few stations in SoCal do this. Its frustrating to see a low price posted then realize its cash only, or with a wash.

we had a small gas station affilated with a grocery store. The store had cetain items that gave you cents off your gas up to 15 gallons. If you got everything you could get your gas free which the people that did that got their pictures on the wall of the store. The station also gave an additional 3cents for paying with cash at the register. Nice thing about that was they always had fresh donuts sitting there also! The store has since closed and along with that the station.

Yeah, I've noticed that. Deceiving isn't it?! I guess they figure once your there, you're not going to leave so why post the higher price? The other one that gets me is: Price with Wash vs price w/o Wash. You really have to look closely.

I'm not sure what this topic, "Cash vs Credit card prices", has to do with how you found this website.

I won't go to a station that does this. Usually they do it to cover the costs of accepting credit cards, I figure if you cant afford to do it than don't/\. I want my credit card points, and I'm not going to pay more to get them.

You have to look carefully for how they treat credit/debit cards. This is usual just the small off brands operators.
