Many stations have diesel fuel but the prices don't get displayed on the map because diesel fuel isn't listed in the station features. How can a user correct this over sight?

You can fix it from the Master Station List feature on the website. I had to do this for a station in my town that only sells Diesel (and was listed as closed for some reason and had to fix that as well). I went ahead and fixed this station for you and checked the "Diesel" box. In the future you can access the Master Station List from http://gasbuddy.com/StationMasterList_nv.aspx or under Gas Prices > Master Station List.

case in point:

Holiday Station
1845 S Robert St & Marie Ave
West St. Paul, MN 55118
651-457-6684

This location has diesel and users often enter the info. However, since it is not listed as a "station feature", it does not show on data map.
