What determines the price you post? Some places have a cash vs. credit price. Which do you post?

Diesel prices vary for "big rigs" (more road tax) vs pickups & cars. Which price do you post? Some stations deduct the road tax difference only when you pay, not at the pump.

Call the gas station in question and ask them for their prices. Post those.

The unwritten rule is to always post the cash price because a lot of places including this area do not give discounts for cash or credit.

i post what is on the sign. Diesel is not priced different for "big rigs" and cars/trucks. Off road diesel is cheaper since it is used in construction equip and farm eguip.

Cash price based on the gasbuddy FAQ

"When reporting prices for stations in areas that have different prices based on method of payment, we ask that you post the cash price where it exists. If the station does not offer a cash price, the standard price should be reported."

What ever the cash price is on the marquee is what I post. You could do the same if your fellow Arizonans would stop shooting at the marquees.

Here in Alberta, the price is the price. I post the 'posted' price as many stations have disconts that not anyone may get.

I post the credit price. They don't do the cash alternative around here.

Per a personal message, the FAQ states "post cash prices only". Thanks to all who responded On this part of my question.

Now for the second question. Let me state it again. In Arizona "Big Rigs" pay an additional $.08 road tax on diesel. Some places (truck stops) post the Big Rig price, but also have a price ($.08 less) for pickups and cars. An example: Posted price on sign $3.86 / gal (Big Rig price). But cars get the diesel for $3.78 / gal. Which price do you post? The "Big Rig price or the pickup/car price? Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

You always post nothing but the absolute cash price. Everything is based on the cash only price.

Post the cash price on the marquee for all fuels and grades. Give the station an extra ten points if they sell SuzyQ's in the convenience store.
