Don't you "cost saving" morons realize that we have to charge more to all because you are using a credit card. You are saving nothing...that is the marketing of credit cards to make you feel that way.

5% discount kicks in July 1 for both my Discover and Chase Freedom card.
Higher pump prices for credit are having a hard time catching on here. Some that had it pulled back to same pricing. I see absolutely no reason to pay cash and end up paying 5% more.

cash is a hassle a lot of times when filling full since you have to go in, give them the cash and if you do not get enough gas go back in for a refund.

@Comments below:

My Discover card gives 5% on gas purchases during usually at least one quarter per year. Last year, it was during the summer. This year it is as well during the summer.

traffic cop:
QueenMother (below) said she gets 5 percent with her Discovery Card. In a number of other threads, when people discuss "How do you pay...How do you want to pay...or Cash vs. Credit", etc., members universally say they get back (at least) 5 percent.

And, almost to a man they say that they always pay off their account in full every month so they never have any financing fees, they never have to pay a membership fee or dues. Almost universally, it seems, that the credit card companies don't make any money off of anyone that uses a credit card, yet somehow the credit card companies stay in business and make increasing profits every year.

I prefer credit, I don't carry that much cash with me. On a major trip Gas is my major expense. More than food or motels.

I buy scrip from the local high school. This gives back to the school, prevents ID theft potential (credit/debit), helps me keep track of gas expenses, and gives me cash prices.

I use a 5% Rewards credit card. If fuel is say $3.00 a gallon (dream on), then I receive $.15 back on my statement which is lower than the cash prices. I also don't like standing in line when the truck stop has vehicles at all sixteen pumps.

If I can get credit for same price then that's the way to go since I get 2% back from credit card.

It's the same around here. I get a rebate on my credit card. And when I travel I really don't like the idea of carrying hundreds$$ extra.

Are you giving cash away? I pay by credit, not very many stations here charge for using a card.
