Do you stop topping off when:
1) you reach the first click
2) a little leaks out of the tank
3) round to the nearest dollar
4) round to the nearest $0.25
5) round to the nearest $0.10
6) round to the nearest $0.05

Depends on the pump. I can get nearly an entire gallon between initial and 2nd click at some stations. I stop when i can only get an extra 1/10th between clicks. I try to fill completely to get an accurate mpg number (I hand calculate).

None of the above, I fill until it reaches the filler neck.

Important note: I drive a TDI (diesel) of a particular vintage where the gasoline vapor recovery system was not installed. With diesel, there are no harmful vapors so no recovery system is needed. In these vehicles, there's a button in the filler neck that releases pressure (due to expansion of the diesel, which is greater than gasoline) which can be pressed while filling to completely and totally fill the tank 100% and on up the neck without spilling anything.

Doing this, I get over one extra gallon in the tank. It may not sound like much, but that's anywhere from 45-50 miles extra, or over a day's worth of driving for me.

With good conditions, this gives me a total tank range of about 750 miles, with the fuel gauge staying on full for the first ~220 miles — a neat party trick.

I pay by credit card, so it makes no sense to round off to any number. When the pump stops, I stop.

Both of my cars shut off the pump when the tanks are full. I usually give it one more click but get almost no additional gas in the tanks.

One click after the auto-shutoff. Any more and you risk spilling the liquid gold.

I go until it's full. Once the pump starts, there's about a gallon left to go.

I like topping off to an odd ball price, but not to full in the summer.

I use a credit card so when it clicks I stop.

In the "old days" I'd round it off. Back then it seems that I could squeeze in almost a gallon more after the nozzle clicked off.

These days, even when I intentionally try to top off, I can add barely a few cents of gasoline. OH BUT WAIT - that's probably almost a gallon at these prices ;-)

After the click , then I round it to the next dollar amount. Cussing is involved if it slips to the next dollar plus one cent.
