But of course! This is populated by people who have to be responsible for their own money. Now if we were flush with ebt cards "green energy" subsidies, bank bailouts, and other free money, we wouldn't care so much.
Example: when I go shopping, I am careful to combine coupons with store specials. I asked cashiers if they ever sees people using EBT with coupons. They all reply, "never."

The oil companies in the states are doing really good if they are getting their crude in the US, as ALL oil is traded at the World Trade Price, and they get to pocket the difference of the world price and what they paid locally for it.

They 'appear' to be slowly getting better but reality is we are treading water. Over the longer term they have been getting worse for decades in terms of the purchasing power of the average American.

Better. A few years ago we were in an economic meltdown that could very easily have resulted in a global depression. I have not lived through a depression but from the stories I've heard I feel very fortunate to have not lived though one.

It's astonishing, and disheartening, how people support, and passionately defend, leaders whose policies work to their disadvantage. Black unemployment and over-all quality of life factors (poverty, unwed pregnancies, black-on-black crime, school drop-out rates, etc.) continue to get worse. Especially in places like Oakland, DC, and Chicago, where liberal politicians control things.
But they're fiercely loyal to Obama, just as the masses in Venezuela are fiercely loyal to (the memory of) Chavez. Russians are resurrecting the cult worship of Stalin. Things get worse, but they love these guys all the more.
I see them as "ideological caesars," political "emperors," demagogues.
