We should bring back Greenstamps so that when by fuel we get something in return.

Green Stamps were actually a rip-off. The cost of this "benefit" was stirred into the pricing.

They were also a silly nuisance, trying to qualify for toasters you didn't really need. What about Plaid Stamps? Blue Stamps?

The reason we don't have stuff like this is pure greed.

Wheel you can get and give something on here by posting some gas prices. It helps those in your area and for you to find the best prices. It really is what this site is all about.

I've still got a bunch of those in a box, left over from the 80's when I drove a semi.

Green Stamps were a scan. I'm old enough to remember them. But people still think/hope they can get 'something for nothing.'

The only way to eliminate the surcharge for credit cards, would be for stations to stop accepting credit cards. I am sure that not everyone would consider that a win.

Offering Green stamps would simply add an additinal promotional expense that would be added to the price. No thanks.

Actually S&H Green stamps are on line as S&H Greenpoints. You can even convert any old Green Stamps to points.

A number of businesses give the points for purchases on line.

The best thing gas stations could do for patrons is to eliminate the surcharge for credit cards. Everyone wins!

It costs a gas station to take part in the Green Stamps program (which is still in existence in some areas, just in a different form).

Are you willing to pay a couple cents extra a gallon in order to offset the cost of the gas station being in the Green Stamp program?
You don't think that getting fuel for you money, withiout extra cost, is enough?

That said, what might help your fellow Baltimore Gas Buddy members more than Green Stamps is to get other people to join Gas Buddy and to post prices in order that other Gas Buddy members can be better informed shoppers. the more people know about prices the more better they can make their buying decisions, which in itself is something in return for their posting gas prices for your benefit. But that's just a thought on my part; that's all. Just a thought.
