I've seen prices jump up 20 cents or more per gallon overnight or during a day, but never coming DOWN more than a nickel or couple cents.

I have seen it take long jumps and slowly work itself down but have never seen massive drops overnight with the exception of a good ole gas pricing war.
Come to think of it I can't remember the last time I saw one of those.

Yes, signwatcher, they play us like a fiddle. We are being molested and no one will come to our rescue. I don't know what is worse: Catholic Priests or the Oil Industry.

How would you like a .60 plus cents per gallon hike in less than a week? It has just happened in this area.

The price was about 12 percent too high? Not 13 or 14 percent too high? Not 8 or 9 percent too high?
Can you explain how you reached the figure of 12 percent too high?
I'm probably missing something, as is maxstar (in his post below), but you're getting a 16 cent per litre drop in prices (what you're saing is about a 72 cent per gallon drop in prices) and you're complaining? Perhaps you can explain how pricing should be developed and how, given any specific wholesale price, how much mark-up individual gas stations should apply, and the reasoning for that application.

A 16 cent drop and you still find something to complain about. On what basis do you claim that prices were 12% too high?
