Besides, supposed to remain with the nozzle while pumping. Most gas spills are when the hose does not shut off (for a million reasons) and the driver is not with or inside the vehicle.

When I use to drive over the road, 18 wheeler, I was at a truck stop parked up, came out of the restaurant, there was a truck driver getting fuel, he wasn't paying attention, the fuel nozzle did not cut off like it was suppose to. There must have been 25 or 50 gals. of fuel on the ground. Glad I wasn't paying for the fuel.
