Living and working in a security field, I REALLY don't want that much control of my life on a small, easily portable and totally unsecure device. I'll pass on this idea!

I was an early adopter of cell phone payment but gave it up. Its a bigger hassle than its worth. Plus the clerks have no idea what to do when you present them with the phone.

I got sick of teaching the counter people their job of how to use cell phone payments system.

I use the ExxonMobil "Smart Card" (a credit card) which gives me a $.06 per gallon rebate,, which makes my net price very competitive with any of the lowball options out there.

And, if a particular ExxonMobil station also offers a discount for cash I also automatically receive the lower cash price when I use the "Smart Card," even though it's a credit card.

I pay mostly with a Debit Card, but I'd be willing to use a phone if the security was good enough.

Any card or cash will do.
I've quit using the cellphone/app to pay at starbucks (sometimes it's difficult to scan the barcode).

I don't pay anything by cell phone nor do I use it for banking purposes. This is a good way to get hacked seriously.

Has anyone ever done the MurPay option at Murphy USA/Express stations? It's some sort of system where you use text messaging to turn on the pump, then it's charged to your phone bill I think.

Sounds like a lot of trouble, but I'm curious if anyone's even done it.
