When I see a good gas price, I top 'er off.

Sometimes that's when I have to get gas. Other times it's a day or two after filling up.

If I'm driving around locally, I wait for the low fuel light to come on.

If I'm driving on a trip, the need to get out and stretch drives when I stop.

Being in a Greedway state, I buy according to where we are in the cycle. Our prices can vary as much as $.50/gallon from one day to the next. If the price is low, I keep it filled. If the price is high, I wait it out, sometimes for 2 weeks. Gasbuddy is very helpful in this area.

1/2 unless gas prices just spiked (which is often), I'll try to wait til gas drops a little after a spike if I'm around 1/2 tank

I never let it get below 1/4 tank (except for one time) and have never run out of gas in 37 years.

I try not to let it get below a quarter tank. When on road trips, it's half a tank before I want to top it off again.

Depends on what gas prices are doing. If GasBuddy notifies me that prices are going up I scurry to my local station regardless of how much I have left in my tank. Otherwise, I normally fill-up when my tank gets just below 1/4 full.

Depends on price fluctuations. Generally, I'll get gas when it gets to 1/4 tank but will fill sooner if prices are on the rise.

Depends on the price of fuel, since it fluctuates so much. Sometimes I'll fill up when I have half a tank left.
