I let it go for half a tank - especially in wintertime

maybe a 1/4 for summer.

around home- at 1/4 to 1/8 tank
when traveling- where gas prices are good, usually at 3/4 tank or 1/2.

Usually a quarter tank since I use high octane and don't have to worry about garbage at the bottom of the tank fowling up the injectors, ( Hopefully)sometimes once a month I take it down to about 15 kilometers left to check my mileage.

Unless prices are predicted to fall, I try to refill when the tank is down to half. If prices are falling, I'll wait.

Will sometimes buy at 3/4 full.
Sometimes at 1/4.
Sometimes at 300 miles, other times 400+ miles.
Sometimes I let the idiot light and warnings sound.

It all depends on what I'm doing, what I plan to do, and where I am.

If I need diesel in Indiana I'll wait as long as possible and only buy enough to get to Kentucky where I'll top the tank.

well my truck's gauge been broken for like 100 yrs so I gas it up every 250 or so miles (about 1/4 tank left)

the old sports car gets filled at 1/2 empty; to avoid water condensation in the 41 yr old tank.

usually 1/3 or a bit more. A friend of mine bragged about mostly going close to empty before fillups. Now with a burnt out fuel pump repair he is not so sure

I shoot for 1/2 a tank in the Jeep and 1/2-1/4 in my Chrysler. 1/4 tank in the n get pricey? especially right now!

Depends on whether I expect gas prices to drop or rise. If they are dropping, will let it go until the mileage gauge says 50 miles left. If they are going to rise big time, I may put as little as 4 or 5 gallons in to fill it up.
