Where I live Shell is the most expensive station but I always see people buying fuel there even when another brand across the street is as much as 15 to 20 cents cheaper. It usually is only a 5-10 cent spread but i have seen it at the 20 cent spread. Just wondering if there are a lot on this site that are loyalty to one brand.

I usually shop wherever is cheapest. Usually that is Costco in my area. Although I get a fair amount at BP.

We have no loyalty. We use gas buddy to find the gas and report prices at nearby stations.

I"m partial to Costco, which is not always, but mostly among the cheapest top tier gas around.

I buy gas at one station only because it is convenient and usually in the ballpark pricewise. I do check GB for the best price in a reasonable area. I boycott $peedWay because they seem to drive the price spikes around here.

When local, I tend to be loyal to Shell. When traveling, price tends to take priority.

kinda lean towards kwik-fill, sort of a local brand... like its being local, price very competitive (especially in higher grades) and nickel off with its card, although at moment, that pales next to discover's 5 per cent cash back, particularly with prices on rise...

At work, I try for the lowest prices – especially since certain stations that do low prices also sell enough to keep the gas fresh.

For my car, I go for the cheapest mid-grade gas I can find, locally. I will occasionally go for a Top-Tier brand.

Traveling, I go for cheapest gas...although I will occasionally try to gas up at a certain spot instead of going for pure price.

loyal to the lowest price, don't care what brand. Last week shell was lowest where I work, other times it can be a no-name one on the corner in a bad neighborhood that has bars on the windows and sells cigarettes individually. I don't care.

Yes. WaWa

I have done test on a few gas stations and WaWa has given me the best MPG and sounds better driving it.

I have a Smart Car which is pretty much Mercedes and I see the Top Tier gas stations. Don't see how that's true

7-Eleven and Mobil is by far the worst gas in the car. I got 30 - 32 MPG and driving habits were the same exact as any other gas station. Hess is about 35 - 36 MPG. BP was about 34. WaWa has given me 36+ MPG, mainly 38 - 40 MPG.

Plus my car requires premium gas but I am trying a test on Ethanol Free Gas even though it cost more

Honestly I would love to payless for gas but I'm going for the one that has the best performance for my car

So WaWa wins. Not sure how many people know about WaWa but it started up north and now is opening up down in Florida like crazy!

I've always been as loyal to them as they have been to me. In other words: No. I try to stick with major brands - not hard to do, there aren't many independents anymore, anyway. I've never noticed better performance or mileage in one brand over another.

The exception is Arco. I've still got a bad taste in my mouth from their posting of cheaper prices, then tacking on a fee for any kind of plastic. I guess they don't do that anymore, but my habit is formed. :-)
