In 1971, during gas wars, leaded regular was 25.9 and leaded premium was 29.9. This included full-service and being able to use your gasoline branded credit card.

I think I remember gas for 75 cents a gallon and this was back in 1995.

It was about .57. But adjust for inflation in todays prices that would be $1.69, Mom's station wagon in 1975 got 7mpg, my new Fiat gets 30mpg. But $3.69 is still too much.

It was $0.199 a gallon at a no-name station in Spring 1973. I looked at my old high school yearbook and they had a picture of a Standard (Indiana) gas pump. The price on it was $0.279 a gallon but Standard was the good stuff.
