Even if you drive 1,000 miles on your vacation each way, a 2,000 mile round trip, and the price of gas immediately goes up $1 a gallon, if you're getting 20 miles to the gallon, that extra $1 is only adding $100 to your entire vacation. If $100 for a 2,000 mile trip, for a vacation, is that much of a deal breaker, then you need to reconsider driving anywhere on you vacation.

Yes, I take shorter and closer vacations when prices are up....longer and farther vacations when gas prices are down....

My vacations usually aren't expensive ones, travel somewhere to see nature. So for the most part, fuel costs aren't a concern. Lodging is a bigger concern.
