with a huge gas-point total from Tops Markets, recently filled up for $2.31 in Auburn, NY, and have the receipt to prove it... standardly, though, and that's seldom, around $30, about 12 gals (15, 16-gal tanks) @ about $2.50

I went from "three miles after the low fuel light came on" to "auto shutoff, then another auto shutoff" for $28.60 before the 3% American Express fuel rebate. I got a tank full of Valero for $2.329 a gallon.

From empty (fuel light is on, I've driven approx. 45 miles), it takes $55 when the prices are around $3.00.

Doesn't matter in the least as I seldom even check how much I purchased and simply run the credit card machine at the pump and top off...it is what it is.
