87. You should be using what your manual says to use. Using premium when your car only needs regular is a waste of money. Any extra "smoothness" you feel is most likely a placebo effect.

That being said, if your manual says to use premium, then you have to use premium. Always follow the manual.

reg, regular does nothing , absolutely nothing unless your car was designed for it. In fact you are probably let gas pass through without burning unless your vehicle needs it.

You always run in the vehicle what the vehicle manufacturer recommends. If you think premium makes your car run smoother and the manual calls for 87 octane, then your head is in the clouds plus you are wasting money.

I prefer 93 - especially when I get my frequent grocer reward discounts. Also some of our local stations have Ethanol Free Premium, I will pay a little extra to use Ethanol FREE Gas!
