I recently started using the GasBuddy App for my android phone. Sure beats the old pad and pen!

I watch the same few gas stations on my way in, and then post them from memory. Yes, I reserve that much brain-space for GasBuddy!

GasBuddy app is awesome... so is my daughter sitting the back seat. She inputs most of my prices for me so I am not distracted while driving.

Use the iPhone GasBuddy app, but on an iPad. IMHO, it's even better done on an iPad.

Sometimes I will pull in and read prices off the pump, other times I'll sit at a light and read the prices off of the sign.

I use the pen and paper. I write down the stations before hand. It's the same route to and from work everyday. Then I just fill in the price and the time. I do use a little memory with it, I only write this down when I have come to a place to stop. I mostly drive the highway, so it's real easy to keep track for me. Planning is so much easier for me. I plan where to stop and get gas on my long commute to work, too. Living in a small town the prices are different then the city I work in. So get the choice of where to get my gas and when to fill up or just to make it to the cheapest one.

I still use pen and paper. IMHO it is a bit safer than using the app on the road. Also around here holding onto a cell phone while driving counts as using your cell and you could get a hefty fine and points. I go the same route every day to work so I write down the stations before setting off and then just fill in the prices as I go.

Usually I'm stopping soon enough to post. Occasionally I'll keep prices memorized when I feel the need.

So hard to keep track.... look out the window. All the stations in town charge the same. So hard...
