New member and along my route there are two or three gas stations that are not listed. How do I add these to the database, I have searched and Googled to no avail?

Thanks

CK: "If any of these stations are selling fuel, it is possible for someone to have changed them to Closed - Temporarily in the past and nobody ever changed it back."

Or even "Closed-Permanently."

obiwan, if you're the one who ends up being in the best position to add the stations after you get to 10,000 points, I would definitely echo this caveat. Do check the map that pops up when you hit "Gas Prices - Master Station List" (when this becomes available to you) in the menus above and make sure that the stations aren't already listed, just in some sort of closed or deleted status. This will avoid duplicate entries, which seem to have been a bit of an issue lately (at least in the states around me).

If you're reactivating a permanently closed or deleted station, you'll get a message stating (in a nutshell - don't remember exact verbiage) "You'd better be sure." Don't be intimidated by this; if it's open, it's open, and you're sure.

I think the OP is talking about stations listed on the app, in which case aged-out prices would not cause the station to be missing. Lack of current prices would give dashes for the prices, but the station would still appear on whichever display was being used. Either the stations are truly missing (unlikely) or they have Closed status.

To clarify things, so we're not confused about what you want to do and how to do it, when you say there are stations that are not listed, are you saying that they're not listed on the home page of the website, that is, on the High Priced and Low Priced list on the full website's home page? Or are you saying that they're not listed on the mobile app list when you look for stations? Or are you saying the stations aren't listed on the Master Station List?

Just a note to you, as a new member, the prices on the website's home page don't list all prices, just the top High prices and the top Low prices. And if people haven't posted prices for any other stations that might be higher or lower than the last price on the list, it won't show up. Or, because prices are deleted by Gas Buddy after a certain period of time (the delete time varies in individual Gas Buddy areas), the station won't be scene (because there's no "current" prices for the station).

Further, on the mobile app (at least on the Android), you can choose settings to display all stations or just display stations with current gas prices.

If the gas stations aren't included in the Master Station List, the MSL, that's a different issue, and (obviously) means that no one has yet added the station to the list (and, therefore, the stations aren't visible).

All that said, even if a gas station is on the Master Station List and no members are currently updating fuel prices, stations often aren't able to be seen.

To follow up Byte_Doctor's post, only those considered "senior members", those with 10,000 or more points, can update the Master Station List, either to add stations or make edits. If you have specific stations that you want to add to the Master Station List or want to edit before you have 10,000 points, you can/should post your reuest in your local Hartford discussion category, provide all the necessary information, and ask that another member, who can confirm the station's information, make the update to the Master Station List.

With the above and the comments of others below, have we answered your questions or do you want more information/details how to post, add stations, etc.?

Obi: How are you looking at these stations? Full site or mobile app? If you are missing these stations on a mobile app, it must be remembered that stations that do not have an Active - Open for Business status will not show up. If any of these stations are selling fuel, it is possible for someone to have changed them to Closed - Temporarily in the past and nobody ever changed it back.

If you post the brands and addresses here or on my whiteboard, I would be happy to check the status of each for you. Or you could contact a member in your local discussion category of the forum and ask them to do it. It is unlikely that these stations are not in the database.

If you're on the app, set the view to 'show all stations' to be sure you're not missing any with outdated prices. When you're in the MSL database, zoom in to the specific spot to see that there aren't any existing applicable entries. Unless these are brand new or way out in the country, they probably should already be in the database.

Once you reach 10,000 points (achievable in less than a week) you will be able to add them yourself through the Master Station List from the menu in the full website. To get them added before then, your best bet is to ask someone in your local forum who is familiar with the area to add them.
