Got an ad for a company "kleenheatng.com.au" on the iPhone GasBuddy app.

The company is Kleenheet Natural Gas. They are in Australia. No GasBuddy (except for the curious ones like me) would ever click on a link like that. Anyway, if GasBuddy went to Australia, they would have to change their name to PetrolBuddy. "Gas" down under means "natural gas" and NOT "gasoline."

Assuming the advertisement wasn't inadvertently posted (by the advertising company) on Gas Buddy by mistake, I'm not sure there's any problem with an advertisement for a "foreign company". A company could have a variety of reasons for promoting it's products in different or non-traditional markets, even if it's just to get it's brand "known".

As for "No GasBuddy (except for the curious ones like me) would ever click on a link like that", is an advertisement for a foreign company's product any different than the advertisement for Good Sam Roadside Assistance if you already have AAA coverage or your insurance policy or credit car covers roadside assistance? Or for advertisement for "Best Deals Electric Car Batteries"? Or the advertisement for the "Ridiculously Easy Trick" that will save you money on car insurance? Or the "Meet Women From..." advertisements? Just because some Gas Buddy members won't "click on a link" doesn't mean that others don't have an interest or curiosity in the product or service.

And, if it's not a "questionable" advertisement, why shouldn't Gas Buddy accept the advertisement? After all, advertisements pay for the website's operations.
