Is there anything that can be done for members who constantly report false pricing. I have someone in my area who has been repeatedly report false pricing just because he is at a competitors gas station. Just because they aren't the lowest price, he will go and change everyone else's prices and up them $.08-$.12. Does anyone know how this can be resolved. It has been reported to several times and still no results.

I have contacted them 3 times in the last week to week and a half about someone CONSTANTLY reporting the wrong prices and they are not doing anything about it. They have also been reported for reporting gas prices off web sites previously. Do any of them actually read this board to maybe finally do something?

@peacebrosma <<There is no Esso station in Meaford the name was changed to Alex.s several years ago. Also Meaford gas bar has also closed down. >>

You have the points to update the MSL or you could post in your local forum: "Barrie" so that someone else can update the MSL. Most of the folks on this board are from all over and don't even know where "Meaford" is located.

Daddioio suggested:

"Well the false reporters name will show up, and I suppose you could send them a polite message."

While this has worked with some "offending" members, it doesn't work with others, many of who may never see (or even know they're getting) polite messages. Moderator have suggested that members don't "white board" each other to not post false prices, first because honest errors can and do happen (mis-identification of gas stations or mis-remembering prices, as well as mis-typing), and second because they want to avoid possible squabbling among members.

If it's a continuing problem, do what the moderators suggest you do: Contact them directly.

Report them to the moderators. Once you hit 10,000 points you will be able to zero out the price as well.

You can contact the moderators either using the "Help" link at the top of the page or the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page. Simply advise the moderators of the name of the "offending" member, what gas stations are involved, what you believe the member has been doing, and when the "offending" actions/price postings have occurred. The more information you can detail the easier it is for the moderators to understand the problem.

When complaints are received, moderators attempt to contact the member to ensure that the mistake is not accidental/unintentional/stations confused, etc. before taking further action. If a member is intentionally posting false prices, moderators can (and often) ban the member from further participation on Gas Buddy.

That said, you can continue to post the correct prices for gas stations to help ensure that prices are posted accurately.
