I have a question about how the commuter award is scored. Let's say that I input prices for gas station A during AM and PM hours every Monday through Friday. And on the weekends, I do the same for station B but not for station A. Maybe I drive one direction for work during the week but don't pass station A on the weekends during my down time. Does that give me 7 days in a row or just 5 and 2?

Thanks in advance!

"Can't believe the hard work is basically for nothing."
and

"I am not going after the rewards, I couldn't care less.

These two comments don't seem to match up. My point that the "hard work" was not for nothing if you posted valid and accurate prices.

My GB didn't find my GPS today when I first started it up. Big surprise - same thing happened with WAZE.

I am not going after the rewards, I couldn't care less.It is just something that I have noticed and needed to get in the open. The app is anything but perfect and its not the phone as I have used it on several smart phones.it always messes up.on occasion it can't even process the GPS data saying "is your gps ON?" even though its on as I use my phone as a GPS system at the same time.

I also do not update while driving, I wait til I have to stop at a light or in heavy traffic then post.

kwzh - I have a smartphone. I can't tell you when I last checked the "awards". I also only pass a few stations on the way home -- mostly as I get off the freeway, and it is easier to post those prices from home than to mess with the app in traffic. I worry that those chasing awards could be as dangerous as texters on the road. And, yes, I understand some of the younger crowd thinks they can text and drive safely. They can't...they just THINK they can.

Good point, TxJeans.

I don't have a smartphone, and have never seen the app, so I can't say for sure that I wouldn't get involved with the awards if they were available. But the nearest equivalent on the main site might be the consecutive days counter and the speed lines on the vehicle icon, and I have similar thoughts about those. I'll take action to preserve them, all else being equal; but if it would be inconvenient to do so, then I'll let them reset. I've often said that it's good to avoid getting attached to them, because when (not if) you eventually do reset, it won't be so traumatic.

No, the hard work was not "basically for nothing" - the primary focus and reason for the site is providing the membership PRICES, not gaming awards.

Yes, it is disappointing to lose credit on one of these awards if you track them, but in the big picture, why are we here? We are here to help each other find the best price for gas.

Sometimes the "mess up" is user error, or device error and not always "APP" error. But, even if it is the APP, does it really truly matter in the big scheme of things?

sometimes it even messes up. this morning I was at 20% to level three even though I am posting prices in the AM and PM (the same stations)for several weeks now. an hour later I was back at 0% ? I still am at 0%....

Good to know. Thanks!

It is tougher than the Iron Man award.

The commuter award works when you post a price in the AM and PM consecutively each day. It does not matter if it is the same gas station or not. So this reward is really harder to keep going than the Iron Man reward.
