I can't seem to enter the correct time seen. The times in the drop doen menu are not what I need. I cannot edit the times or enter my own timem

I guess it depends on what you consider “close,” Pex. Unless more than 12 hours has passed since you spotted the prices, the worst disparity between actual time and those available on the menu is 30 minutes. Or, if you want to be really safe and use only times that are equal to or earlier than actual time, then it could be off by almost an hour. If you are posting a price that is 6 or 8 hours old, I don’t think it matters much if the time spotted is not precise. That said, I agree with you and would also prefer to type in the actual time.

I was trying to enter the exact time I pumped gas when I got home. The receipt has the time pumped on it. Some of the time stamps where not even close to the time I pumped gas.

I was surprised to see that the older price still got points.

For years I rarely posted prices since I had no mobile device and could only post from home (can't use company PC to post). I only pass 1 station in my 20 mile mostly expressway route (and it only posts REG price) and the station was at the work end and was always reported by the time I got home.

When reporting by FSL, when taking the surface roads, I post in groups to the closest time stamp. Usually about 3-5 groups of prices by the time I reach home.

pb88, in the situation you describe, the other person's (newer) entry would remain on the price board, but you would still get points for reporting it.

I was somewhat surprised when the time spotted feature was first added; I had expected that it would be a text input field, rather than a menu. Perhaps the typical user can't be trusted to format a timestamp correctly.

if someone post and it says price is posted in an hour ago does that mean the price is current as of an hour ago and if you saw the price 3 hours ago do you report a price and state the time that you saw it as three hours ago and do you take credit for it if so what's the purpose of it?

It would be a nice improvement to be able to choose a time from the menu OR type in a more accurate time when it is known. I do not have a mobile device for reporting so when I am on a trip I record prices on a digital voice recorder and report them when I get home, several hours later. The DVR stamps each recording with the time, so I could enter exact times if the system would allow it.

In addition to what Scrapheap mentioned, you can only "back-date" prices from up to 12 hours prior to the current time. This is done to keep prices relatively current.

Are you posting prices after you have seen them? If so, pick the time closet to when you saw them.

If you are trying to put in the exact time, you can not do that. Just pick the closest time from the drop down.
