My first attempt at CD's I reached a bit over 300 then lost it due to being sick and overlooking a day, second attempt I reached over 200 days then for some unknown reason I lost that too...have no idea why as I had been on top of it every day....now, I just don't care anymore...too frustrating :(

I made it through 20 years in service without drinking coffee, I'm not going to start now! But, I do concur, a morning ritual of reading posts with my post toasties keeps me regular in more ways then one.

Yep - that is what I try to do - log on in the morning while having my morning cup of coffee and read the news before I head out for the day. Then if life throws me a curve ball during the day and things get hectic, I have my points.

That said, I have started over many times, and it really isn't that big of a deal. In fact, I had to look to see how many consecutive days I have currently.

roadkingfl:

"to bad the app didn't have a warning indicating within the last hour of that day that no points had been registered"

Rather than bloat the app, why not simply set up a "warning" on your mobile device's calendar to remind you at whatever time you want the reminder. You can set it for a fixed time early in the day and again an hour or two before the end of the day.

Either that or make it a point to "read a news article" or post a message the first thing every morning and avoid trying to remember or find time to do something at the very end of the day. Seems simple enough to me.

Don, if you're showing no activity for 8/22 then I guess my old age is getting to me lol, as for the other days I just didn't bother out of being frustrated after doing my utmost to make it to 365 days....guess it's back to the beginning and starting all over again....to bad the app didn't have a warning indicating within the last hour of that day that no points had been registered :)

The consecutive day count keeps track of how many days you have earned points on any GasBuddy site/mobile app.

It only takes one point to advance your consecutive days (in other words, you only need to earn points for one price report, one news article read, one weekly poll vote, one forum message in a day).

If you miss a day of earning points your consecutive day count will start back at zero.

Unfortunately there's no point earning activity recorded for your username on 8/22/2013, 8/27/2013, or 8/30/2013.

If you think that there's a website issue that caused your consecutive days posting to not be recorded, contact the moderators directly via the Help link at the top of the page. Provide them with as much information as you can about your posting. If there's a website related issue, moderators can reestablish your consecutive days; if you inadvertently didn't do any points earning actions (using your "overlooking a day" example), then that's a different issue.

As for " I just don't care anymore...too frustrating" :( ", sorry but while it may be frustrating to think that a multii-month day-to-day effort was for naught, it's not as if there was value in being on the list other than seeing your anonymous screen name on a leader's board. And even then, there are so many others in front of us, I don't see it as anything more than a "warm fuzzy" that I can simply start over. In my opinion.

In the great scheme of things it is really meaningless.
