AIUI, it is a Microsoft Office component, not a Microsoft Windows component. That is, it doesn't come as a part of the OS, and is instead an add-on for MS Office: see MS Office website

kwzh, Windows+S is a OneNote feature so isn't available unless you have OneNote installed (which is, I believe, a MS Office component).

Images: Alternate to the Windows + S, you can use a nice free program called PicPick that allows selective screen capture and choice of two uploads - the one I use with it is imgur.com.

We should have a standard checklist for weird problems.
-- Clear cookies
-- Clear cache
-- Do a virus scan
-- Restart machine
-- Try a different browser on the same machine
-- Try the same browser on a different machine
[more?]

Btw, I don't know what "Windows + S" does on your machine, but if it creates an image file depicting some or all of what was on the screen at the time, that's the sort of thing I was asking about. As for uploading it, the link I provided (for temporary sharing, not long-term) is a pretty simple one to use, and doesn't include much additional clutter on the resulting page.

"Browser is IE10"

That may be the problem.

I've logged out, cleared cache, done virus scans, and uninstalled all blocking software. Still have the problem until checking my logon on my laptop (worked fine). Found the correct work around by going to the Arkansas GasBuddy Site first then logging in.

This corrects both the news feed and MSL issues. Thx all.

smugutu1234:

Can you explain your post, "NO" a little better. Not sure how your post, as written, helps Retired-Coastie solve his problem of not being able to read the news posts.

Okay - just found a Win7/64bit/IE10 and had no problems.
Do you have any add-ons, blockers, etc?
Have you run your security scans?

I use Picpick for screen shots and upload withimgur.com
You can also upload from PC.

Do you have another browser to try? Like FF?

@Scoutmaster; Yes, I can read your post. No, I have no one on my
ignore list. Yet.

@CampKohler; None of the news story beneath the GasBuddy Blog & News
work for me. ie: Ferrari has a hybrid for you... just $1.34 mill...,
Commodities Futures Trading Commission plans, etc.

When click on a link a new window opens with a The: Webpage cannot be found HTTP 400 error. No URLs appear upon mouseover. I did a copy and paste of each of the below links, in a new tab. It opened correctly, until I tried to "Post a Reply", then it crashed to a Log In screen.

Graphics on this very page are black boxes with a white x in them.
one is located at the left of the screen under Logged in:,
the other three are to the right each of these inbox: 0, Buddy Requests: 0, and Notifications: 0.

Browser is IE10, OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

@kwzh; I know how to "Windows + S" to do a screen clip to OneNote,
but I am unfamiliar with screen snapshots or posting to imagbin.org.

You might want to consider taking a screen snapshot, too. You can upload it to imagebin.org and post the resulting URL here.

Please post examples of news articles that won't work for you. What happens exactly when you click the news links? Do you see the URLs of the news articles when you mouseover the links, e.g. http://sactogasprices.com/blogs/Commodities-Futures-Trading-Commission-plans-to-regulate-high-speed-trading/75594_548799/index.aspx or http://sactogasprices.com/news/Climate_Theories_Crumble_as_Data_and_Experts_Suggest_Global_Cooling/75566_548735/index.aspx, etc.

Also describe the graphics that don't show, e.i. what page they are on, where they are on the page, etc. so that we can identify them.

And you might as well throw in the browser you are using and operating system.
