How do you answer the question, "Does this station have 'Different Cash/Credit Pricing'" when there are separate places for the Cash and Credit prices, but the listed prices are the same?

Don - What we need is clarification from the opp when he raises the question about separate places for cash and credit but the prices are the same. Is this on the Street Sign? Or is this just that the pumps are set up to be able to handle dual pricing. A lot of stations in my area that have newer pumps, the pumps all have dual pricing capability but the stations have never used it. I suspect we will see more that when pumps are replaced they are replaced with pumps that offer this feature. That way, if a station ever, some day, before they next replace pumps are able to implement the dual pricing.

But, checking this box may or may not make sense depending on how you implement the dual price mode in the future. If checking it just because the pumps come with the ability, we could have a lot of folks posting the same prices for cash and credit to get their full quota of price data and not add any real extra value.

Just my thoughts...

Thanks for the update.

I have a Mobil station near my house & it has Cash / Credit prices, they will usually be the same in price for awhile, then once in awhile I'll notice that they have raised the credit price on the sign. So sometimes the same prices & other times different, so to the question when it popped up on my phone for that station I had answered "Yes" this station does have different prices for Cash / Credit.

If there is separate advertising for cash and credit prices, but the prices have never been advertised with different prices (meaning the cash price = the credit price), I suppose you could choose either Yes or No as an answer but for different reasons.

You could choose Yes, because the station does advertise cash and credit prices (even though the prices are the same).

You could also choose No, if the prices have historically never varied between either method of payment, you could also choose "No" if the station does advertises/advocates a station policy that cash and credit prices are (and will remain) the same.

I would probably choose "Yes", only because the station does advertise tiered prices and there is opportunity for them to vary in the future, but that choice would be entirely up to you, either way would seem to be correct.

I would agree with listing it as mono-priced only if the two columns have never been observed to differ.

This is going to be off topic.

I would like to ask the OP to please enter stations into the MSL in the correct format. The area state and zip DO NOT belong in the address line.

I'm done.

Additionally to what Gas_Buddy said, many stations have pumps that are ready for dual pricing even if they don't have street signs. In FL, you don't have to post all prices at the street (many only post the REGULAR price), but have pumps that have two sets of price fields for cash and credit. They cannot use this feature of the pumps in FL w/out putting a "hang tag" on the bib board that indicates the big board is displaying the CASH/BRANDED card only.

I think Gas_Buddy's explanation of what to do is pretty clear.

I believe JamesCalvin is asking about a station that has a price sign that has separate columns for cash and credit prices, but the cash and credit prices shown on the sign are the same. In other words, the station charges the same price for cash or credit, but has signage that would allow them to display different prices, if, for example, they decided to start charging more for credit transactions. I am aware of a couple of stations in my area with such signage.

Provided that the displayed cash and credit prices are consistently the same, I answer "No" to the question "Does this station have different cash/credit pricing?" If on some days the displayed cash and credit prices were the same and on other days different, I would answer "Yes" to the question.

Also, I am aware of a few stations with dual price signage that display the same price for diesel cash and diesel credit, but different cash and credit prices for gasoline. So long as there are cash/credit pricing differences for any grade, it seems appropriate to answer "Yes" to the cash/credit question.

Can you supply screen shots for both sets of prices?

Huh? Where are these separate places for cash and credit prices? I don't see anything like this on the web site or the Android app.

If there is no difference in the cash/credit price, don't check the box.

The way you worded your question is confusing.

If the question reads 'Different Cash/Credit Pricing' but as you say, the listed prices for cash and credit are the same, doesn't that answer your question? If the prices are the same, they aren't different.

Often I am asked this question when I post from my app.
