Is there any way to remove a station that has long since closed? It might be right under my nose but I missed it! Thanks.....

Your point is well taken Aladdin but closed stations should not show up during ordinary use of the site. And there is no excuse whatsoever for retaining duplicates or fraudulent stations in the database.

Leaving a record of closed stations, even ones that have been completely removed isn't a bad idea as long as they don't interfere with the primary goal of reporting current gas prices. For example if there is pollution found near the area, the info in the MSL can serve as a backup / confirmation of other records.

And you cannot even remove a duplicate station or a phony one that someone entered.
It is a flaw in the system. Duplicates ought to go away completely.

BTW, your station should be marked temporarily closed unless the pumps are gone and the building torn down or converted to some other use, in which case it is permanently closed.

It can be closed, but it is NEVER removed, even if the whole town is levelled and flooded by a new man-made lake, unless the LAST station with that name is marked closed permanently.
In other words, a Shell or Exxon that was levelled last year to build a drug store will be there forever, even though it isn't coming back, but if there were two Main Street Gas and Go stations in town, and they BOTH were marked as closed permanently, they would disappear from the MSL.
Plus, marking a station permanently closed doesn't take it off somebody's favourites list, it just marks them as unmatched.

The station can be closed in the Master Station List.

You need to edit the MSL. The easiest way is to bring up the map, zoom into the area of the station, change the time in the lower right corner to "Show all stations", click on the price balloon for the station and click on Edit Station Info. You can change the status to closed temporarily or closed permanently there.

You can also access the MSL under Gas Prices, then click on the Master Station List.
