I have posted prices in the am and pm religiously for some 90 something days and was 95%to level 4 in the commuter award and all of a sudden I was back to 0. I didn't miss any days.
This has happened to me twice! I travel a lot and report all of the time. Has anyone else have this happen? Thanks

I've had this happen to me also. I miss a day & the commuter on goes back to zero.
Plus the Iron Man doesn't record correctly.
I put prices everyday & it doesn't recognized it.

Thanks, Don. I suspect the problem is the interface between the Galaxy and the app. I always get an accurate and prompt location (blue dot) on map view. It's just frustrating to try and load the "distance" locations, especially when I'm at a light and want to enter the prices fast.

You may have noticed I'm something of an enthusiast. Maybe you can use that as a ranking category.

If a station isn't showing in a search, that could be happening if the station hasn't seen a recent price report, or the station has yet to be submitted into the database. In a dense station populated area, it's possible the station didn't make the cut into the list of results. I'd try using the Show Stations options in the app settings, this will show stations without any recently reported prices.

As for the other issue, I would say that indicates the previous location info was cached on the device. You may need to close out of the app entirely, then load another near me search.

You can jump start querying the device location services by opening Map View, and waiting to see if your current location is discovered. If the blue marker zeroes in on your new location, go back and try a Near Me search again.

Don, any thoughts on the problem of the mobile's GPS not listing a station when I'm quite close to it? Sometimes I'm right next to it--and it just doesn't appear on my "Search By Distance" list.

More frustrating --and more often, now that I think about it--is that I get a list relevant to a previous location several miles and some time previous.
I have to re-set through various fuel categories (hitting Premium or Diesel) for it to locate me and reset me.

I use a Samsung Galaxy III Android.

This topic flew under our radar, moved from General Gas Talk to Talk Back To Us!

In order for awards to calculate properly, GPS is required and price reports must be made while physically near the station. This is done to reduce recent abuse (people making up prices for stations in areas other than where they are currently located, etc.).

This award was reset on 3/23/2013 when a station was recorded being posted with a user distance of 19 miles away from the station.

Of course we ask that you use GasBuddy only when safe and legal to do so, but please make sure you're physically near each station when reporting prices.

Contact the GB Moderators privately. They are very helpful! They are also busy, with MANY E-Mails! So it may take a few days to a week for them to respond, but they WILL! & They will be helpful! They are good people & very friendly!

I haven't lost points but I have lost consecutive days inappropriately & at times when I clearly knew I shouldn't have.

Did it happen when daylight savings started or ended? Happened to me in November. I contacted GasBuddy Tech support, and they were able to reset it back.

Every once in a while, some award category flashes on my mobile. I've been looking around the site for the ranking of these categories and where I stand with them.

Where do I find them, anyway? Or are they restricted to mobile devices?

I believe you should see a doctor. You are blacking out for long periods of time and don't know it. This would make you think you are losing points when in fact you are not posting each day due to the black outs.

What, exactly, does this topic have to do with General Gas Talk, which is for discussion about gas stations, fuel, oil, etc.?

Wouldn't it make more sense, if you don't want to post this in "Off Topic", to post your question in the Talk Back To Us discussion category, where you can ask the moderators what the problem is? Or contact the moderators via the "Help" link at the top of the page?

Or is there a reason that this topic is in General Gas Talk?

It has happened to me twice, both times at 94%. I suspect it has something to do with the timing of my entries but not sure. Currently at 84%, for the 3rd time, and watching closely to see what happens.

It is small stuff though.

i have lost points on the same catagory. im at 0% now. on the 25th of feb i got level 3. it is 30 days or so later and im at 0%. i have been posting Am and PM everyday

I've had issues where i report prices on the mobil app but for some reason my data connections drops or the prices are not send to the app server and therefore don't register as being submitted.
