The station profile page (on website) for Costco at 3560 W Century Blvd & Yukon Ave in Inglewood, Calif. (MSL ID #7446) shows a spot for mid-grade price with "--" for the price, but the MSL does not have mid-grade selected in the features. The features were last updated in 2007.

Is this a glitch or just caused by someone posting a mid-grade price that was recently zeroed out?

No, this is on the full website and on a desktop PC (don't have a smartphone.)

The "--" is what appears in the price box on the Station Profile page when nobody has posted a price and the last posted price gets too old and falls off.

In this case, since that station doesn't sell mid-grade there isn't a price box for mid-grade on the Station Profile page. But that day there was a mid-grade price box, and the price shown in the box was --

PS I mentioned that the MSL features for that station were last updated in 2007 to point out that the glitch wasn't caused by someone adding/removing mid-grade (or otherwise updating) the MSL.

I think GoGoGoodyear is looking at a smartphone app. There, all grades are displayed, and where no price is posted, "---" is seen in the price field.

I hope PD has success with this!

I'm afraid we've been told this for years, so forgive me if I don't hold my breath. Besides, it goes against the recent changes that seem only targeted at better monitizing the site. Frankly, I'm tired of the significant drop in accuracy of the data collected since adding the worthless "awards" for the mobile platforms.

The only time I've seen "--" (without the quotes) for a price is when the previous price posted has expired due to age. But it should not show anything since that station is not set to carry mid-grade in the MSL.

How could "--" be accepted as a syntactically valid price in the first place? I thought the system checked for that.

GGG: Although it has been suggested many times (and PD gives some hope for it), there is no current interlocking of MSL station fuel/grade data with price input forms. Thus any Costco mid prices are due to mistakes made by the membership. Zero them out and, if a particular member repeats the mistake, report him to the moderators.

This would be one of my top priorities. I'm trying to make that known.

PD posted today in a thread about new site ownership that site management, though unaffected by the transaction, is hopeful that the new owners will bring additional funds that can be applied to fixing stuff many of us have asked for over the years, including things on the legendary "to do list" perhaps?

One of those fixes could be overhauling the price submission page to show inputs for only the grades that are set up in the MSL - I think there have been any number of requests for that to occur over the years.

It's people posting for app awards, GGG. These prices should be deleted and reported to the moderators.
