There is no need to lock topics or effect any changes to the site. The current remedy – removing from eligibility any member who questions or complains about the award process – is sufficient in my mind.

Winners cannot be announced until they've replied to us after being notified of their winning the contest. It can often take a few weeks. We will normally allow them 3 notifications before having to choose a backup winner. In which case, the back up winner must be notified as well. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause (this is why it's a good idea to keep your account info up to date!)
We strive to post contest winners within 30 days of contest closing date

The Terms and conditions of the drawing are easily found if one takes the time to look. The problem is no one takes the time to look! People want to be spoon fed!

Include me in supporting the Scrapheap suggested idea (in the link below), though 'm sure members will still start topics asking why the moderators haven't gotten a response from the "winner".
It's only a matter of a short time until we see yet another topic on this same issue.
Rather than lock this topic, I suggest removing the topic and moving Scrapheap's suggestion further up the Gas Buddy programmers' "to-do list".

This thread reminds me of this idea.
Simple as that suggestion is, it will probably never be implemented because it affects the web site, not the apps, and it doesn't increase ad revenue.

Slacking? Not hardly. And who won yesterday??? The drawing isn't held until after Sunday after midnight. Give the guys a chance to draw, notify the winner and have the winner respond.

If the prize notification is returned as non-deliverable, the winner will be disqualified and another winner selected in the original winner's place.
