I get the message but only rarely, on more than one site. I just close the message bar, I have no idea what add-on failed to run, but it doesn't seem to be anything important because nothing strange happens.

I only get this message on gas buddy and no other programs. It has happened for several months. It happens whenever I click the mouse on the gas buddy site I have a desk top computer with windows vista home premium with service pack 2 and windows 7 and internet explorer 9 I hope this info helps

A message stating that an add-on failed to run is unrelated to the performance issue experienced earlier this morning.
Are you running Internet Explorer on your computer? If so, are you running IE8/IE9?
You may want to try checking which add-ons are giving you problems, here's a link you can try for more info (IE8 specific)
I would say that there's a possibility that your Flash player or possibly even Silverlight (if installed) may not be handling some of the flash advertisements.

Perhaps you can provide more information regarding the message.
For example, are you only getting this message on when you're viewing Gas Buddy, or is the message popping up when you're in any other programs?
How long have you been receiving this message? And how frequently does the message pop up?
Are you getting the message on your computer (i.e., desktop or laptop) or while using a mobile device? If you're getting it on a mobile device, are you getting it using the app or using the full website accessed via your device's browser?
If you're getting the message on your mobile device, what type of device are you using and what operating system are you using? What browser are you using when the message pops up?
The more information you can provide the moderators/programmers, the easier it is to identify and fix the problem, or possibly advise you that it's your device or operating system that's generating the problem.
