How do I get my Member Profile to show the City and not just the state?

Go to this site to see a complete list of the metro areas in California that have separate GasBuddy sites. Your GB profile page does not list the city or town you live in, just the GB site that is your “Home” site. If you live close to one of the cities listed here you might prefer to use that as your Home site.

Your "home site", as shown on your member profile and under your screen name (when you post messages), reflects where you indicated you're joining Gas Buddy. For example, you could be California member in general (as you are), or you could be a member from a more specific area member such as Los Angeles or San Francisco (or any of the other California Gas Buddy "areas".

In my case, as an example, while I'm in the general Baltimore area, my price posting are generally more representative of other areas of Maryland. Consequently, my topic discussion and price posting are more reflective of Maryland as a whole versus reflecting Baltimore discussion issues or local (Baltimore) pricing.

If you think your discussion interests and price posting are more reflective of a more specific area, simply (as Scrapheap suggested) contact the moderators and let them know which area you think you better belong in (than California as a whole). That said, not every city is represented by Gas Buddy .
