Having done that, you now have 5 more to finish the edit, for a total of about 10 max.

Check the times, and if they are off, PM a mod to reset the clock. (Hopefully, no winding is involved. :-) ) You may read about recent occurrences here and here.

Even if the "edit" button is missing, you can always start a new post that begins with "Correction to earlier post below...", "Please disregard previous post from [whatever date/time], corrected post follows...", or something similar. Then simply cut and paste your old post, edit it, and then post the new message. It might not be the most convenient way to make an immediate edit, but it's a simply way.
