I don't see it as an issue, in that case then Stop & shop cards get a discount at Shell Gas station. We should leave a note with the gas price that is on the pump. I am sure people know very well that without membership they wouldn't be able to get the same price.

Either way as long as the increase/decrease is noted in the comments.

The pump price should be posted at Costco, Sam's and BJ's, because that's the price most people pay if they buy gas there. It make more sense to put a comment in if the station sells to non-members at a 3 cent upcharge.

“There's a Sam's in Oklahoma City that will see gas to non-members at a 3 cent surcharge. Which price should be posted?”
Post the non-member price and put “3c discount for members” in the Comment field.

This thread reminds me of this suggested improvement, which was spot on if I do say so myself.

jrsva, refer to what maxstar wrote down below on Dec 2. The fact that Costco, Sam's and BJ's are members clubs is widely known. If there was an easy place for referencing them as members' clubs in the MSL or station list that would be OK, but it's not worth a lot of programming effort on the part of the administrators. Removing these "club" stations from the GB system would be a much larger mistake than anything else we're talking about here.

In the week since cruzz12 started this topic (and joined Gas Buddy), he still has the same 720 points he had when he started the topic. Posting Costco gas prices might be (in his words) misleading to the public, but at least the prices are posted. It doesn't seem that cruzz12 is participating in price posting, or any other Gas Buddy activities.
If you're going to complain about gas price posting, at least, in my opinion, post gas prices yourself.

If you post prices for Costco, Sam’s, etc., you should put “Members Only” in the comment field in your FSL so that comment will appear automatically every time you post. Since most GB members do not do this, it has been a long standing suggestion that there be some way to enter durable comments in the MSL, so they will always appear for a given station regardless of who posts the price. I don’t expect this to be implemented but it would sure be nice.

>> Costco might not be the cheapest station around.
Well, given the 4% rebate, you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere cheaper around here.

As a Costco member. I like the price showing up. It influences whether or not I would drive the extra distance for the savings. You also might consider a membership, I easily save more than the membership cost with the gas savings alone, not to mention the goods in the store.

cruzz12,
For information on how member prices and discount prices are to be posted, feel free to check out the site FAQ and your local area level price posting guidelines.
Club card/member users do use our websites and apps as well, we see no reason to prevent these users from seeing the prices for their preferred stations.

Actually, you don't need to be a Costco member – you just need to know a Costco member.
Anyone can purchase Costco gas if they have a Costco Cash Card.

Maybe it is a new discovery to you cruzz12 but most of the public understands that Costco requires membership so I do not see anything misleading about posting the prices.

There is no incomplete information. It's another post by someone we won't see again.

What is the "Incomplete information" that you're suggesting in the topic title?
That people don't know that Costco is a members's only warehouse club (and gas station)?
While I think that most Gas Buddy members realize that Costo is a members' only club, just as BJ's Warehouse Club and Sam's Club are, if the comments section indicates "members only" or "membership required", why shouldn't Gas Buddy members be told about a station that generally has lower prices than other stations? Not being told Costco fuel prices (on this website) would deny members information that would make them more knowledgeable shoppers. It's no different than saying that you shouldn't post the price for fuel on military bases because you have to have base exchange privileges (i.e., be military, retired, or a military dependent) to shop on base.
Personally I think the public is smarter about knowing you need to be a Costco member in order to shop at Costco, and is not being mislead, than you apparently are.
I say, continue to post warehouse club fuel prices, and simply indicate in the comments section that shopping at the warehouse club is for members only, or that club membership is required.

Seems like you've figured it out, so just ignore the station when you see it. This is easy to accomplish on the site, and if you're on a mobile device, use the filters.

Add some form of members only to the cross street. It will read like this
Costco 123 Main St and North St (mbrs only)

If people would use the comment line and put " Members Only" it wouldn't be a problem any longer :) That's how I have the Costco near me listed.
