Costco FAQ
Q: Can anyone buy gas at the Costco Gas Station?
A: The Gas Station is open to Costco members only. There is an exception: Costco Cash Card customers do not need to be Costco members.

Don,
Thanks for the response.
I will reiterate - Not all Sam's & Costco are members only to buy gas. Members will receive a discount while non-members won't.

Actually, in the case of Costco, the member doesnt need to come along. If they buy you a Costco Cash Card (gift card), you just insert that in the dispenser and buy gas without being a member.

"Some stations post their prices in sneaky ways. Such as BP: their top price was 3.02 for regular, if you purchased a car wash. The price below it was 3.12 for regular. They should not be allowed to do that."
As long as the station is indicating that a posted price is with a car wash, what is sneaky about that? Are you suggesting that a non-car wash price be posted above a clearly identified discounted price? Why should the station not be allowed to post prices as it wants as long as it's not being deceptive (which, from what you wrote, the station isn't being)? Are you suggesting that there be a law or regulation that mandates what and how each and every price should be posted, that there should be a certain price posting sequence, or that some prices should mandatorily be or not be posted?

@ scoutmaster,
I'm positive that Sam's Club and Costco stations are Member's Only stations nationwide, generally those chains require a club card to be swiped or confirmed by an attendant at the pumps.
It can be dependent on location to offer a non member price though, Sam's Club has a Q&A referencing this (last updated on 09/24/2012, not sure if this is still valid), check it out here
Above all you would still need to have a membership card, or have a member with you to buy fuel and receive the member price.

bmw575, if you notice prices or station information being entered inaccurately, please contact us through the site feedback feature and let us know the username of the poster, the station details (station name, address, area, state/province) and approximate time posted, so we may bring it to their attention.
As a senior member, you can delete false prices, duplicates, etc. by clicking the price, and setting the new price to 0 (zero). When you do this, ALWAYS leave a quick note as to why it was deleted in the comments field (just delete the existing comment, and input your reason). Only site administrators can see these messages. It's recommended to leave a note just so we know the prices aren't being deleted abusively.
Currently price deleting can only be done on the full websites.

I don't think they are members only stations nationwide.

Problem is the way they list it when your typing it in. Most stations around here always list the mid grade or plus first so I believe people type in the order they read it on the sign. I think gas buddy should just change how you enter it an be done.

There are a handful in PA that sell diesel and all the Sam's Club stations in PA are Members Only.

Trust me after the first month I was Highly pissed and I wrote the company . I had forgot all about the forums (the place where it all began) and after not seeing that anyone else had posted anything like this I was shocked ... I just knew I couldn't have been the only one seeing this ... I know a lot of people depend on this site/app for cheaper gas .. I sure do ... But I agree with you 100% diannafan

I completely disagree with seabrz7. People who cheat and contribute nothing to the site should not be rewarded and treated the same as people who make an effort to help their fellow drivers.

If you see the same member posting false prices continually it is best to report it to the Mods via PM. They do take this seriously and will contact the member though you may or may not get a reply yourself. You must provide enough info that they can trace the problem — the member’s name, the station involved and the date and time of the post.
If you know the correct price just post it over the error. If a price is posted for a grade that the station does not sell then zero it out and be sure to note the reason in the Comment field. “This station does not sell Midgrade” for example. The Mods have said for over a year that they are working on linking price posting to the MSL so that it will not be possible to post prices for grades not sold at a given station. It will be a great help if they ever get that done. Don’t hold your breath.

Just post the correct price and move on. Someone in my area posts on a station that has been closed with fence around it for about 6 months. I just zero the price and move on. No need to get upset.
