Ok, while I have been attempting to update prices, I noticed some mistakes. As station owners change fuel brands, the correct brand is not shown on the site/app. While it is possible to use the address to confirm that I have the correct station, this may actually be a problem for some users of this site. When a person has a gas card for a Mobil station, and the brand has switched to BP, they may go out of their way for nothing. How do i change the brand of fuel on the site, and how do i add stations that are open, but not in the system? We all need to be diligent about updating the information if we want this site to be the resource that it was intended to be!

hgatjens: If you're sure you know which one is incorrect, then change the status of that station to "Closed - Duplicate".

Is it possible to delete a sation fromthe MSL? I notice a local 76 that is listed with two different addresses, one of which is wrong.

I'll add to what Ryan has said, if you notice station details that are outdated or inaccurate, and you have access to the MSL, select the 'EDIT' link and use the tools available to make changes to the station info.

As we may not always be able to deal with incorrect/outdated listings, etc. in a timely manner, and due to the fact that we do not know each area as well as local members, we rely heavily on members like you to update station info.

To add a station to the MSL, please log in and click the link under Gas Prices, near the top of the page which reads "Master Station List". Once in the MSL, use the search to see if the station is already listed. If not, click the link which reads "CLICK HERE TO ADD A NEW STATION". This will take you to a page where you can enter the station's details. Be sure to follow the directions given for each field, and once you are done, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the "Add Station" button.

Thanks for your help.

You mentioned app in your question, but the app has no access to the MSL. You must use the full site to access the MSL. When you browse to your full site, it will redirect to the mobile version, but there is a Visit the Full Site link near the bottom of the page to get you there.

Correction: The #2 way of getting to the add page is not completely correct as shown. Note that the STIndex parameter is 6 as I am from CA. I don't know what it does, but it is different for each state/province, so it would behoove anyone using that method to pay attention to it. In the case of Connecticut, the value would be 8.

This value does not appear to change anything on the page, such as menus (which I believe is governed by the "state" value), but it may mess up something in the station adding process if the coders did not put validity checks in place on the theory that no member in his right mind would fiddle with the URL. So, watch it.

You obviously have not read the Complete, Comprehensive and Unabridged GasBuddy Tutorial on How Everything Works and What to Do. You should do that the minute somebody writes it.

Meanwhile, now that you have 10K points, you are entitled to edit the Master Station List. You can reach a station's MSL Edit Station page in several ways:

1. From the menu bar: Click Gas Prices | Master Station List, and search for the station.
2. From a price list: Click the station name, and, from the Station Profile page, click Update Station Features.
3. From the menu bar: Click Gas Price Maps | Map Gas Prices Map, click a price to produce a station's balloon and click Edit Station Info.
4. Go to http://www.(YOUR SITE NAME HERE) gasprices.com/AddMasterStation.aspx?sm_id=NNNNN, where NNNNN is the unique ID number for the station.

To add a station:

1. From the menu bar: Click Gas Prices | Master Station List and click Click Here to Add a New Station.
2. Go to http://www.(YOUR SITE NAME HERE)gasprices.com/AddMasterStation.aspx?SIndex=0&SText=&CIndex=0&CText=&STIndex=6&MIndex=0&MText=&PIndex=&Street=&state=SS, where SS is the state abbreviation.

(There may be other ways, but I don't know the secret handshake.)
