I tried posting this in Suggest a GasBuddy Improvement a few days ago but that post seems to have disappeared. After using the Android Gas Buddy app for about two years, I started having trouble about two weeks ago. Every so often, I would open the app to update gas prices or locate gas. The wheel on the opening page would spin for a long time, then the app would close with the message "Connection timeout. Please try again." Now this happens every time I try to open the app. I cannot check prices when I need to find gas or update prices at all on the mobile app. I only have access with the website on my notebook computer. I tried clearing the cache for the app. That didn't fix anything. I tried removing and reinstalling the app and I still have this problem. I get the error whether I use cellular data or WiFi.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S with AT&T. I use Android 2.2. As of now, GasBuddy is useless to me. Please look into this issue. I rely on GasBuddy heavily - when it works.
