One station in my area, #49189 in the MSL, usually has a 10 cent grade differential but recently appears to be charging the same high price for both regular and mid-grade. When I enter the same price in both fields, only the mid-grade price sticks. Is this behavior intentional?

miser73,

Sorry for a late response.

This makes sense, if you've used the Time Spotted feature, and other users have updated the station since you originally spotted the price, then a price from the "past" cannot update an existing price.

Ex. If you spot a price at 8:30 AM and update it at noon, and three users have since updated the station at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM and 11:45 AM, when using the Time Spotted feature and setting the price back for 8:30 AM, the site will not update the price.

This is set in place to prevent a new price from being overwritten by an old price. The price will still be recorded on our end however.

(Consider if your price from 8:30 AM was $3.25/gal and the prices from 10:30 and 11:45 AM were for $3.50, we wouldn't want the older 8:30 price to overwrite the most recent 11:45 price).

I hope this explanation helps.

It may have something to do with the time stamp. When you did your test yesterday, you posted with a current time stamp, whereas I had set the time back to when I actually saw the prices. When I entered both prices at the same time, around 6 AM, then checked back later in the day, only the mid-grade price remained.

Thanks, Don. I'll let you know if I see a consistent pattern to it.

It looks as though I was able to update the station without any issues on our end, unless someone deletes the price it should remain listed and available for updating.

Every so often some prices may not appear instantaneously, but you will be credited for the prices anyway. This is part of the price validation system and is entirely normal.

There had also been a member that deleted a price for this station, but that only happened once, which would not enough times to make it look like a price isn't taking (which some people do, unfortunately).

Let us know if this keeps up.
