@ sagnat
This sounds like a specific coverage issue that is outside our application's control, from what we've gathered, the reported bug is fixed and the app is once again 100% functional.
@ Dreamer4one5
Unfortunately we do not have any kind of point earning activity recorded for your username on Friday, 11/23/2012. There is a gap in your price posting history between 11/22/2012 and 11/24/2012. This is a separate issue that you can feel free to contact us about through site feedback

I'm having Android connection issues right now, not so much with the app but rather the part of West Virginia I am in does not have Verizon coverage and the "extended" coverage via second party towers is pretty spotty. Until I figured that out I thought it was the program. How's your cell reception when this is happening?

I'm not having any issues with the Android app. I'm running v2.19 on a Droid X with Verizon as my service.

Einstein47: I'd suggest either Help -> Contact Us -> Leave Feedback, or Inbox -> Create New Message -> Moderator. I'm not sure what's the best category; I don't see one that's specific to app problems.
Dreamer4one5: Normally I'd recommend checking out FAQ 26, but I think the app situation is probably already a known issue. I don't know whether the points are never recorded, or if they're recorded when earned but then disappear, or if they remain on the points listings but the CD streak is nonetheless reset. The difference might be important to the developers. Have you ever checked immediately after earning the points, to make sure that they're recorded in your current score and/or your points history?

Im getting pretty bummed out. . my consecutive days keep resetting to 0 even though I have been submitting daily. . . Am I doing something wrong? For a quick example, early Thurs morning, we left town for the holiday and I made sure to report prices along the way from home (Tx) to our destination (NM). On Friday, while out of town I reported prices at several stations and also stations along the drive back home. Saturday (this morning) while running errands, I reported a few prices and tonight also. . Yet consecutive days is ZERO. . . . please help me. . .

I second my thanks for the quick fix. I have a question though - what is the best way to communicate with the GasBuddy app developers when a major problem (this was a BIG RED FLAG for me) happens? Forum, Google play review comments, or email?

The app seems to work faster now, at least for me.
Thanks for the prompt fix.

After the amount of feedback we've received through the site, the app, and through Google Play, it looks as though v2.19 has resolved this connection issue.
If you've not yet done this, please update to the newest version and let us know if this helps.

We've been working with a few other users and it looks like this issue has been resolved. Would you be able to confirm this please? In case it doesn't work, could you go to the settings and clear the data and the cache? If you have any saved searched they will be lost.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience. - Ryan (RD)

Just to put my voice in.
I'm still running the Original Droid (w/Froyo) and haven't been able to connect since - I believe - Monday.
I'm patiently waiting.

I have not been able to connect with the app last night and all day today. My phone is a Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile (a Sprint subsidiary, which uses the Sprint network).

. Unofficial update...
GasBuddy personnel are working feverishly to resolve this. It only affects a very small percentage of brands/models of phones using GasBuddy, but for those of us with one of the affected ones,, it is a real issue of course.
They have made major progress on analyzing the problem and now know the source of it (very good there), but still must find a way to fix it, and I have no data on how long that might take. I suspect even they do not really know when the Ah Ha! moment will come--followed by coding, followed by market injection process.
My message is...take heart; things are looking up.

I am still having this problem. It seems like my phone cannot tell the Gasbuddy server my location . . . For awhile I was able to use the mobile website on my phone, now it is also having problems . . . it can't determine my location.

I should clarify, if you do volunteer to receive this test version it is more of a "diagnostics app" - it should help determine where the communication errors are coming from.

I'm having the same problem. It started this morning, it seemed that all my apps that connect to the internet didn't work on my LG Ally on Page Plus Cellular. At lunch, I went home and tried a Motorola Droid Plus on wifi (no cell service on phone) and it ALL worked fine. The rest of the day on the Ally the other apps improved but still no GasBuddy. At home tonight, Droid is fine, but GasBuddy is still not working on the Ally (wifi or 3G). I also tried reinstalling it, nothing.

I have had this problem for the past 10 hours. I am using an Android phone on the Verizon Wireless cellphone network in Southern California. I have had the same problem in multiple wide-ranging geographic areas this morning. I have un-installed and re-installed the app twice. I have turned my phone off and on multiple times. I have not been able to fix this problem. As recently as yesterday afternoon it worked fine . . .

I have been having this problem all day. I have 2 Samsung mezmorize phones on the US Cellular network. Missed posting a few dozen stations prices today. The ones I did get done were from the old mobile site.

From the sounds of things this might be a carrier specific issue, when you guys have a moment, could you let us know what your carrier is?
The reason we're thinking it might be carrier or region specific is because not everyone has been experiencing the connection timeout issue, but we've received enough feedback emails and Google Play ratings outlining and supporting an existing problem, it is happening with number of different devices (not just one specific device) and is happening in a number of different areas (NC, PA, LA, ND, etc), and to top it off we've yet to replicate the same issue on our end.
Keeping a communications issue in mind, there's probably nothing you guys can do to change/refresh phone settings that will see any improvement. Thanks for your patience.
