Modern vehicles with healthy engines have less pollutants going into the oil, mine can go 7-10 K with no drop in levels, tailpipe stays unusually clean since new(finger wiping clean)test. Big difference from two decades ago. Great performance @ 80 K miles.

I changee the filter every 5000 and changeee the oil every 10000 With Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Oil analysis stated good for 15000 miles. Im a locomotive mechanic And only time we changee the oil in the locomotives is when I sample comes back bad 90% of the time its contaminated with fuel or water.

Don't trust the shops and it is easier and much cheaper to do quality synthetic oil changes myself. No annoying upselling or sabotage.

I change my own. We live in a 35-foot motorhome and only put 5,300 miles on it last year. I use Mobil-1 and I change the oil once/year.

mobil1 synthetic. oil change interval is just under 7500 because manufacturer warranty is void if exceed 7500 OCI

wifes care automatically tells when oil requires changing and often reminds us between 9,000-10,000 miles. use mobil1 there too

I go by a UOA report and currently at a 11K mile oil change interval on the TDI and 15K mile interval on the Duramax.

I have a system that tells me the life of my oil. When it is down to 10 or 15%, I get it changed.

I change my own oil in my truck. Don't want to pay someone else for what I can do myself. I run about every 3 months or 5,000 miles.

I have so much oil from rebates and clearances that I change oil like Hank Hill, whenever I get bored.
