I leave for work early in the morning (5:15) and sometimes "roll" through the neighborhood Stop signs for convenience and to save a little time and fuel. I know I should come to a complete stop, but was wondering if anyone else does this?

I don't think the gain in mpg outweighs the potential overall cost of a moving violation. I delivered morning newspapers years ago and witnessed local police parked waiting for stop sign violators early in the morning.

I RARELY see drivers come to a COMPLETE stop. But if you ask these same people, they will say they did.

Its' just like porn. No one wants to admit to watching it, but a lot actually do.

roll through a couple select few signs that are on backroads and I can see far enough down the road to see if cars are coming either way.

is the amount of gas you save equal to the price of the ticket you'll get?

no - I do a full stop at a stop sign. Rolling through even a "yield" sign can be risky.

Hmmm.... I full stop most of the time. But I see many drivers, cars, cycles, bicycles, coast on by, especially on right turns.

My thoughts are that 85% of drivers really don't know what or why their vehicles need a transmission to begin with, (main reason ?)but just accept that fact. Also most driver's thoughts are far farther away at stop signs, idle thoughts of saving fuel by rolling on.

I still remember My first year for Science class, not all things studied but most anyway, and that was a big help for my economy driving. Even "Mister Wizard" the TV show had great info!
