Thought this was an interesting article from the perspective of a major oil company.

&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Perspectives_-_Gas_Prices

This article just tells me that the oil companies have more options to manipulate/change prices of crude oil/refining/distribution&marketing if and when they want to. What? A refinery going down for maintenance/switching to summer blend or winter blend? Opportunity for a price hike after the price just went down.

Have I misread this article and it's intent?

To sum it up, they charge what the market will bear.

"Perspective of a major oil company", now would you actually believe anything that these crooks and scam artists said? They have been legally stealing from the consumers for years, and once a thief, always a thief.

Here is a properly formatted link to the information that GRUMPYCAT refers us to. It gives a breakdown of where the money for a gallon of fuel goes as well as the prices for fuel a week and a year ago.

EIA Gas/Diesel Prices

Another topic where nothing new is learned and old gripes are recycled.

Give me a break. Gasoline prices has always been manipulated by oil companies, refineries and market speculators. Especially when the economy is so dependent with a limited commodity.

They try to say a lot of the money is for taxes, but the oil industry in general reaps a heavy profit on each gallon and it isn't just pennies.
