i have a spreadsheet and track every fillup and milage, gas cost, brand, oil price and any mechanical issues and resolutions. i used to do it for all 3 cars but my current partner isn't very helpful with keeping up with it, so i just do my main car.

I just keep an eye on the gas gauge. Whe it reaches a quarter tank, I fill up. Mileage, isn't a factor.
