As tempting as it is to get a bike, the car versus bike scenario keeps me in a car/truck. A good buddy of mine got into 2 wrecks with his bike before he gave it up. He's been lucky
A few saved $$ isn't worth a few broken bones.

I like my motorcycles but caution novices from thinking a motorcycle will cost less to operate than an automobile. Motorcycle maintenance is much more expensive. Tires especially. $400 is not atypical for 2 new tires mounted, which will last from 3,000 to 12,000 miles.

I've been tempted to get a motorcycle for the work commute. Plus it'd be fun to have one for recreation since we have 9 months of incredible weather here. A co-worker suggests a Suzuki SV as a good balance between economy, performance, and price. I like what I've read about it. Just need to borrow a friends bike to practice on and see how I like riding around in traffic. Getting a motorcycle license here is a cake walk.

Too dangerous to drive on the road. In most cases: Car vs. motorcycle = serious injury or death Car vs. car = little or no injury

A motorcycle used to save me a lot on insurance. I put all my commute miles on the bike. About 75 miles/day. I also saved on fuel. I rode a motorcycle for over 50 years.

No, have had a bike bigger than a KZ75 3 speed semi! Wouldn't mind having a motorcycle but fuel mileage is not the motivator.

are motorcyclists in this country getting together to fight the exhorbitant and extremely unreasonable insurance rates?
Because some provinces have provincial insurance schemes, and because these already unreasonable rates are going up even higher,...its a clear sign the government can and will dictate who can drive what , simply by making if financially impossible for certain types of vehicles..
right now companies and provinces are targetting motorcyclists... but already companies are starting to stick it to seniors by jacking up their rates...for no other reason than theyre older.....
again dictating --through other means-- who will be allowed to drive and what youll be able to drive in the future..
