I have found water/soap to be a very slippery liquid and then wherever it creeps into a dirty joint where rust/dirt accumulate it acts as a temporary lubricant then stopping noise, squeaks, and some friction. Things seem to like that comfort condition for a short period of time until drier returns, then back to normal or worse....

They make and sell all types of conditioners for those problems, they come in usable containers for a price. Depends.... Have at it, Enjoy!

After sealing it and applying Auqapel yes.

I interpreted the question to mean overall and not just the engine. Technically though I am still correct.
If the engine does not have to work as hard to push it through the air then it is working more efficiently. Thus it is working better. There is proof that a clean car with a smoother finish gets better fuel economy.
