Yes the older vacuum gauge type readout will give good info on the amount of throttle opening in relation to the Engine loading in different gear ratios. High gear or taller O-drive readings often show how the engine strains for more fuel energy to pull the up-grades, and against headwinds.

Similar readings reversed for coasting, unloading the engine, as driving down-grades. The aftermarket refers to them as economizer gauges/readouts. I still have one installed on my street rod, it works fine. There needs to be an small orifice limiter installed in the vacuum line path to reduce fast erratic reading movement of the sensitive dial hand pointer.

There probably are digital ones available as aftermarket options now, then not needing those inline orifices installed. I find them useful until one trains their right foot for economy..... asIsi

Yes and it often shows that I get the best mileage highway staying near 64....67 MPH. except when bucking a headwind I drop back to 58 often, that \seems to help regain a bit of fuel savings V/s expense. Why I don't know, must be an engine/load resistance thingee! Winds keep the indicator mighty active, even tail wind advantages!

Yes our second vehicle does, but that only estamates your mileage by averaging.
